Some say that New York City is, or should be, the capitol of the world. Certainly its one of the most influential and powerful cities in the United States and in the World. Without a doubt it is the financial capital of the world. New York City is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. The 5 bourough's are linked by a series of bridges, tunnels, and ferries. Manhattan is an island; the Bronx is north of Manhattan and on the mainland; Queens and Brooklyn are on the Western tip of Long Island, which stretches east into the Atlantic Ocean.
The Bourough of Manhattan, is a small island at the center of it all, and the place where most of the city's most famous attractions, buildings, and cultural institutions are found. When most visitors think of New York City, they are thinking of Manhattan and its skyline famous the world over. The financial hub of the United States, the seat of New York City government, and home to some of New York's oldest buildings. The Financial District is located in Manhattan.. Manhattan means diversity for sure. Chinatown, The Civic Center, Greenwich Village, Harlem, Little Italy, NoLita, SoHo, Union Square, Midtown, The Lower East Side, This is Manhattan, this is New York City. Manhattan means seeing New York City in all of it's glory. The past, the present and the future; its all in Manhattan, the financial capital of the world.
The Bourough of The Bronx, is the borough just north of Manhattan Island and the only one connected to the mainland United States. The Bronx has a greater percentage of green space than any other urban area in the country. Somewhere in Bronx you will find boating, horseback riding, cricket, golf, picnicking, and tennis and the oldest public golf course in America. Come visit The Bronx, you'll be surprised.
The Bourough of Queens, is home of many extraordinarily diverse communities and both of the city’s major airports, JFK and LaGuardia. Queens is known for its cultural attractions, with most of them in Long Island City, which is the closest Queens neighborhood to Manhattan, across the East River from Midtown. When in Queens, you're close to it all.
The Bourough of Brooklyn, is across the East River from southeastern Manhattan, is home to world-famous Coney Island and recently became the undisputed Bohemian mecca of New York City. Historic Old Brooklyn is diverse and home to everyone from everywhere. Maybe it should be called 'The World's Neighborhood'. It's the Borough that puts the "New" in 'New York City'.
